A Short Break For A New Beginning

Ruby's First Bath

On February 7th, 2009, I became a father. Welcome to the world, little Ruby. Oh, man is she a cutie. As you may guess, the past few weeks have been a doting mix of wonder, random sleep, foggy work and diapers.

I’m gradually getting back into the routine of things. Life is sweet.

The wonder is just beginning. Enjoy and Congratulations to all three of you! Now… what about a brother / sister?

  4. Dann Veldkamp Says:

Congratulations. It is a wonderful thing being a father. My daugher is now a junior in HS, but just this morning I recalled lying in bed with her when she was just weeks old and crying her eyes out for no particular reason. It was really a revelation about how we relate to God. She was perfectly safe, I was there to take care of her every need, yet she was crying…because she did not know she was safe. Sometime I think that is how we appear to God, crying infants who don’t fully appreciate that there is someone there to care for us.

Hope this wasn’t too personal, but I know you will make a great father.

    Regards,
    Dann

Thanks for the cheers. I kissed Ruby on the forehead today while she was sleeping, and she smiled.

@Rich: Brother or sister? Too soon to consider. I’ve got a newfound respect for those with twins or more. Whew.

@Dann: Yeah, I cry all the time too. It’s hard to feel/know that we’re worth loving. After all, what else are we trying to validate with all our spinning of wheels?

  6. Holly Jordan Says:

Aw! I cannot wait to meet her. What a perfect name, too! You’re gonna be the awesomest parents :) )))

  7. Jim Parker Says:

Congrats, Andy! She’s a little cutie pie! Now get some sleep!
